As Balzac wrote it:
“Derrière chaque grande fortune il y’ a un grand crime”
Which means Behind every big fortune there is a big crime.
Many of those crimes go unpunished when the fortune is really big or too emblematic.
I had the idea to consider the 100 Top Brands Worldwide (as classified by Interbrand) and consider what were their crimes.
I only began and several things hitted me : Balzac is totally right, the criminals are very imaginative when considering the diversity of their crimes (tax evasion, theft,pollution, water contamination, public safety scandal, child work,and the list goes on and on).
Of course this project is a really time consuming one, so feel free to particiate, or suggest any cases on any brands that you are aware of.
